Aleksandra Alferova

I am a sixth-year Economics PhD student at NYU.

My research interests are macroeconomics and financial economics with a focus on banking.

I my Job Market Paper, I study how banks respond to unexpected credit drawdowns by the firms. I find empirical evidence of lending crowding out and propose a stylized model to highlight the link between bank's lending choices, the size of the aggregate shock  and the functioning of the interbank market.

I am on the 2023-2024 Academic Job Market.
